Pianist and Professor Emeritus of the Paris Conservatory and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Former advisor to the Ministries of Culture in Poland and France. Author of the European program „The Piano as a Reflection of European Cultures”. Founder of the „Chopin Festival of Nohant” (France). Founder and Artistic Director of „Paderewski Days in New York”, „Paderewski Festival of Raleigh” (USA) and „Krakow Piano Summer”.

Artistic Advisor

– Wojciech Kocyan was praised for his “highly distinctive performances (…) superb, intelligent artistry (…)” (.Classics Today.com) and “incisive temperament, impeccable technique and sumptuous tone” (Le Monde de la Musique.) He was born in Poland. He studied with two of the world’s most esteemed piano pedagogues: Andrzej Jasinski in Poland, where he received his Master’s Degree and with John Perry at the University of Southern California, where he received a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree. He is a laureate of several international piano competitions, including F. Busoni and Viotti, as well as a special prizes winner of the XI International Chopin Competition and the First Prize winner of the Paderewski Piano Competition. He performed in Europe, America, Australia and Japan, at the festivals Musica Antiqua Europae Orientalis, Capri Festival, Beethoven Fest, Paderewski Festival, Liszt Festival in Vienna and the Chopin Festival in Paris. His performances were broadcast in Europe, United States and Australia. Masterclasses in France, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Mexico, Japan and United States. He is the Artistic Director of the Paderewski Music Society in Los Angeles, the Artistic Director of the American International Paderewski Piano Competition in Los Angeles.

Gospodarzem tego koncertu będzie YEHUDA PROKOPOWICZ, krakowski pianista, zdobywca prestiżowej nagrody za Mazurki na Konkursie Chopinowskim 2025 a także paszportu Polityki, niewątpliwie najbardziej obecnie medialnie zauważalny pianista młodego pokolenia.

W pierwszej części koncertu usłyszymy tego młodego mistrza w zupełnie nowym programie muzyki węgierskiej Liszta i Bartoka, zaś w drugiej części przedstawi on nam swoich przyjaciół muzyków z Krakowa w programie muzyki amerykańskiej.

Wydarzenie uzupełni wykład prof. Adama Wibrowskiego Franciszek Liszt w Krakowie" oraz "Poznajmy muzyką fortepianową amerykańską."

Koncert ten odbędzie się pod patronatem Konsulatu Stanów Zjednoczonych w Krakowie.

Host for this inaugural concert in the series Krakow Piano Summer is YEHUDA PROKOPOWICZ, a young pianist—from Krakow—who has attained notable visibility on the concert stages of Europe, and beyond. In the past year he has won the prestigious Best Performance of Mazurkas award at the 2025 Chopin Competition as well as the Polish Media Polityka Passport award.

In the first part of the concert, he will present his new repertoire of Hungarian music by Liszt and Bartók.

In the second part, he will introduce a program of American music in company with his chamber music partner, violinist JULIA BŁACHUTA, also from Krakow.
The event will be complemented with two short lectures by Professor Adam Wibrowski, appropriately titled "Franz Liszt in Krakow" and "Let's Explore American Piano Music."

This concert takes place by the gracious patronage of the United States Consulate in Krakow.

Koncert ten odbędzie się pod patronatem fundacji Pro Musica Bona.

The second concert "New Sounds of Krakow" will present Scholarship recipients of the Krakow PRO MUSICA BONA Foundation, BARTOSZ WĄTROBA and ZUZANNA WOJDAK, two young Krakow pianists with a bright and promising future. They make their Krakow Piano Summer debut with an outstanding program of works . . . and—as a unique feature—a joint performance with Adam Wibrowski of Carl Czerny's Polonaise Op. 296 for six hands, a treat rarely heard on the concert stage.

This concert will be held under the patronage of the Pro Musica Bona Foundation.

"Dawne Brzmienia Krakowa" to tytuł unikalnego programu, który przedstawi kompozytorów czynnych na dworze na Wawelu w czasach Zygmunta III Wazy, utworami zapisanymi w Krakowskiej Tabulaturze Organowej z 1548 roku, a następnie pianistów kompozytorów krakowskich z lat 1800, którzy w swoim czasie byli wiodącymi wykonawcami w Polsce i Europie.

Solistką koncertu będzie krakowska klawesynistka i pianistka PAULINA TKACZYK-CICHOŃ.

Wydarzenie uzupełni wykład prof. Adama Wibrowskiego: "Kompozytorzy krakowscy Kazimierz Nowakiewicz 1780-1830 i Kacper Napoleon Wysocki 1810-1850"

The third concert "Old Sounds of Krakow" will serve as a contrast to the second concert. This unique program will present composers active at the Wawel court during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa (1587-1632), with works from the Krakow Organ Tablature 1548. It will also feature pianists and composers from 19^th-century Krakow, who were leading performers in Poland and Europe in their time. The soloist will be Krakow harpsichordist and pianist PAULINA TKACZYK-CHICHOŃ.

This event will be complemented by a lecture by Professor Adam Wibrowski: "Krakow Composers Kazimierz Nowakiewicz 1780-1830 and Kacper Napoleon Wysocki 1810-1818."

Wydarzenie uzupełni wykład prof. Adama Wibrowskiego: "Związki Ignacego Paderewskiego z Francją - debiut w Krakowie 1884, debiut w Paryżu 1889"

Koncert ten odbędzie się pod patronatem Instytutu Francuskiego w Krakowie.

Great works of Polish music (Fryderyk Chopin and Ignacy Jan Paderewski) and of French music (Maurice Ravel and Gabriel Fauré) constitute the recital program of the outstanding young French pianist JULIE HAISMANN, who makes here her Polish debut at the KRAKÓW PIANO SUMMER.

She is the recipient of a special award from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the best performance of Ignacy Paderewski's works at the Paderewski International Competition in Bydgoszcz.

This event will be complemented by yet a fourth lecture by Professor Adam Wibrowski: "Ignacy Paderewski's Connections with France: “Debut in Krakow 1884, Debut in Paris 1889."

This concert is being held under the patronage of the French Institute in Krakow.

Koncert ten odbędzie się pod patronatem Istituto Italiano di Cultura w Krakowie.

The fifth and final concert of this Krakow Piano Summer will feature 25-year-old Italian pianist ELIA CECINO, winner of numerous competitions (Arthur Rubinstein/Tel Aviv, Iturbi/Valencia, and Van Cliburn/Texas). He has performed as soloist with numerous orchestras on dozens of concert stages in Europe and America. He has been recognized for his energetic playing, outstanding technique, and vast repertoire, and he is accounted a leading pianist of the new generation. His concert program will feature compositions by Domenico Scarlatti, Gianlucca Vacchi, and great works of Franz Liszt and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

The event will be complemented by a further lecture by Professor Adam Wibrowski: “Italian Inspirations in Romantic Piano Music: Painting, Literature, and Music."

This concert will be held under the patronage of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Krakow.
