Adam Wibrowski

Founder Director of Krakow Piano Summer

Adam Wibrowski is the founder and served as artistic director of several major musical events in Europe: Chopin Festival in Nohant, France; Liszt Festival in Sopron, Hungary; Austria Piano Summer in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, Leschetizky Piano Competition in Hamburg, Germany; International Music Sessions in Holand; and of E.U. program Piano as Mirror of European Culture.

He is a Masters Graduate in Piano Performance (prof. Ludwik Stefanski) of the Superior Academy of Music in Kraków and studied the doctorate of 3 cycle at the Sorbonne in Paris. He is an accomplished pianist and teacher and provides concerts, master classes and workshops throughout Europe, Japan, China, Australia, Canada and the United States.

In 1999 he won the competition for a piano professorship at the Paris Conservatory Hector Berlioz where he taught for the next eighteen years, retired in 2017. He also taught at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles for a number of years where he was granted with the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and Music Studies.

Adam Wibrowski served on many piano competitions juries in Europe and United States. He is an internationally recognized authority on the life and music of Fryderyk Chopin and President of Chopin Society of Nohant, France.

William Wellborn

San Francisco

William Wellborn enjoys an active career as pianist, teacher and lecturer, and has performed and lectured widely on three continents.

He received a MM (New England Conservatory), and DMA (University of Texas) in Performance, and a BM in Piano Pedagogy (University of Texas), where his teachers included Gregory Allen, Patricia Zander, and Nancy Garret, and two leaders in the field of pedagogy - Amanda Vick Lethco and Martha Hilley.

He has also received coaching from John Perry, Leon Fleischer, Karl-Heinz Kammerling, Adam Wibrowski, Andrzej Jasinski, and Jerome Lowenthal. Guest artist appearances include the New Orleans Institute for the Performing Arts, the Paderewski Festival, the American Liszt Society, the Great Romantics Festival in Hamilton, Canada, the Chopin chez George Sand festival de piano in Nohant, France, and the Tres Seculos de Piano series in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2004 he had the honor of presenting an all-Liszt program on Liszt's piano at Hofgartnerei Museum in Weimar.

Dr Wojciech Kocyan

Clinical Professor, Artist-in-Residence Loyola Marymount University Artistic Director, Paderewski Music Society in Los Angeles Paderewski International Piano Competition in Los Angeles President, California Association of Professional Music Teachers, Santa Monica/South Bay Chapter W. Kocyan studied with Andrzej Jasinski in Poland (Masters Degree) and with John

Perry at the University of Southern California (Doctor of Musical Arts Degree).

He is a laureate of several international piano competitions, including F. Busoni and Viotti, as well as a special prizes winner of the XI International Chopin Competition in Warsaw and a First Prize winner of the Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz. His performances were broadcast in Europe, United States and Australia, and his solo and chamber music recordings can also be found on DUX, Naxos and Spotify. In 2007 the Gramophone magazine in London chose Mr. Kocyan's recording of Prokofiev, Scriabin and Rachmaninoff as one of 50 best classical recordings ever made, alongside recordings of such luminaries as Leonard Bernstein, Dietrich Fisher-Dieskau, Nicolaus Harnoncourt and Artur Rubinstein.

Brenda Bruce

Professor

Master of Music, New England Conservatory, Boston. American pianist. Emerging Artist Grantee City of Raleigh, 1992, United Arts, 1995, State Arts Council grantee, since 1995, regional artist grantee, 1999-2001, NCMTA grantee. Member National Music Teachers Association, National Guild of Piano, Raleigh Piano Teachers Association (vice president), Cary-Apex Piano Teachers Association (president); Pi Kappa Lambda.

Classically trained Brenda Bruce will offer classes on improvising on familiar melodies from Broadway and Jazz Standards of the Big Band Era. Simultaneous with her classical training- Master of Music in Piano Performance from New England Conservatory-- she privately developed her skills in popular music which afforded her many career opportunities. She has used her skills for the pleasure of the public in many hotels, clubs, private parties and an unusual 12-year gig playing during lunch hours at SAS Institute, a private software development company.

Artem Yasynskyy (Ukraine)

Artem Yasynskyy was born in 1988 in Ukraine into a family of professional musicians. At age seven he was accepted at as a pupil of Albina Oryshchuk at the Special School for Gifted Children in Donetsk and gave his first public concert aged eight. He graduated at the Donetsk Prokofiev State Musical Superior Academy with Honours. From 2010 Yasynskyy continued postgraduate piano studies at the University of the Arts in Bremen with Professor Patrick O'Byrne. Yasynskyy is the recipient of numerous awards and competition prizes. The Gold Medal at the Cincinnati World Piano Competition paved the way to his debut at New York Carnegie Hall. A further success at the Theodor Leschetzky Competition led to his first commercial recording, a Grand Piano Label CD featuring works by Józef Hofmann. His second CD with pieces of Domenico Scarlatti was published in January 2018 by the Naxos label.

He won prizes at the Honens I.P.C. in Calgary, the Viotti Competition in Vercelli, the Sendai International Music Competition, the Gina Bachauer Competition in Salt Lake City, the Top of the World Piano Competition in Norway, First Prize at the Leschetizky Competition in Hamburg, and Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kiev. Concert appearances have taken him throughout Ukraine, Germany, Canada, the USA, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Greece, Japan, Spain and Russia.

He has appeared at diverse music festivals, including the Honens Festival, Husum Festival, Paderewski Festival, Gina Bachauer Concert Series, etc. In June 2019 he was admitted with 24 world best selected pianists to participate at the XVI Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow.

Jakub Kuszlik (Poland)

At age 22, Jakub Kuszlik is a laureate of numerous piano competitions. He has won several prizes including second prize at the International Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz in 2016, second prize at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition in March 2019 and third prize at the Top of the World International Piano Competition in Tromso in June 2019. In 2015 he was the winner of the Young Performers' Stage, obtained a special prize for the best performance of a Szymanowski works at the 49th Polish Pianists Festival in Slupsk, and performed a Chopin Recital for the Polish National Radio in 2017.Jakub Kuszlik has performed in Poland and abroad including the United States, Germany, Italy, Greece, Japan, Norway, Vietnam, and Iceland. He receives a scholarship from the Czarnecki Foundation. He holds a degree from the Władysław Żeleński Music School in Cracow where he studied with Olga Tazarska and is currently ending a Master Degree as a student of professor Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń at the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz.

He has worked with Arie Vardi, Dang Thai Son, Támas Ungár, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Dmitri Alexeev, Kevin Kenner, Bernd Goetzke, Bruno Canino, Stepan Simonian, Adam Wibrowski and Waldemar Andrzejewski.

Andrew J. Yang (USA)

Andrew J. Yang deemed by The Examiner as "a prodigy, running the emotional gamut from brooding introspection to manic exuberance", American pianist, has recently embarked on an active performance career across the United States, Europe, and Canada. Met with international acclaim, Ruth Slenczynska, the legendary concert pianist who studied with Rachmaninoff, Cortot, Schnabel, and Hoffman, regarded Yang as"a gifted, sincere musician, and serious artist" and Geilenkirchener Zeitun (Germany) called his recital "inspiring, drawing the audience into a spell".

2018-19 engagements have included performances at venues such as Victor Borge Hall, Carnegie Hall, Museum of Modern Art, Murphy Recital Hall, Bosendorfer Hall at the Mozarthaus (Austria), and concert halls in Llanes and Ribadesella (Spain).

Yang has received awards from the 2019 Five Towns Piano Competition in New York, VI Euregio in Germany, and was a finalist in the coveted 2018 OlgaKoussevitzky Piano Competition in New York City as well as at numerous other competitions including the Metropolitan International Piano Competition, Heida Hermanns Piano Competition, Thaviu-Issac Piano Competition, Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, Evanston Music Club Competition, and the San Francisco Chopin Competition. Yang is also half of the Vala-Yáng Duo formed with Icelandic pianist Erna Vala. In 2018, they were awarded the White Rose Medal of Honor from President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö and the Icelandic-Finnish Cultural Grant. In Fall 2019, Yang will begin pursuing a D.M.A. doctorate degree in piano performance at the prestigious USC Thornton School of Music, he previously received a M.M. from Mannes School of Music and a dual degree in Economics and Piano Performance from Northwestern University.

His most important teacher and mentors are William Wellborn, Antoinette Perry, Dang Thai Son, Audrey Axinn, and Julian Dawson.

A former competitive athlete, Yang pursued a boxing career under thetutelage of Lorenzo Sidberry (coach of multiple IBF World Champions) at the legendary John's Boxing Gymin the Bronx, NY.

In July 2019 Andrew Yang won the SECOND PRIZE (First Prize not awarded) ex-aequo at the FLAME PIANO COMPETITION in PARIS

Reina Wada (Japan)

Reina Wada has graduated from Musashino Academy of Music in Tokyo, where she studied with professor Akiko Kitagawa. Later she continued with Julia Ganeva, Konstantin Ganev, William Wellborn and Adam Wibrowski.

She performed piano concertos with Shinsei Nippon Symphony, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Krakow State Philharmony and Funabashi Philharmonic.

Since 1992 she presents every year a recital with a new repertoire in major concert halls in Tokyo area, She also played recitals in France, Austria, Hungary and Poland and regular recitals for the F. Chopin Society of Japan.

She released 10 CDs.

Viktor Radić (Serbia)

Viktor Radić, born in 1996 in Novi Sad in SERBIA, started to learn the piano in his town with Professors I. Branovački and S. Dalagija. He won awards at the international competitions: Nikolai Rubinstein, France; Virtuosi per musica di piano forte, Czech Republic; San Dona di Piave, Italy; International Competition Chopinfest, Serbia; International Competition Isidor Bajić Piano Memorial, Serbia: Euregio Piano Award Germany; International Competition of Young Pianists in Niš, Serbia; and recently the 1st Prize at the 2018 International Piano Competition Janez Matičič in Lublana.

In 2017. he was awarded the scholarship of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe and given several awards from the Belgrade Faculty of Music: Emil Hajek award for the most perspective pianist; Katarina Aćimović, for the best performance of a sonata that year; Nevena Popović, for the best artistic achievement in 2018.

He performed many piano recitals in Serbia as well as Slovenia (Slovenian Philharmonic Hall). In Belgrade music halls such as: Kolarac Concert Hall, Belgrade Philharmonic Hall and Russian Art Center. Recently at the Chopin Piano Fest in Prishtina, Kosovo; at the FESTUM student festival and as soloist with the Student Orchestra of Belgrade Faculty of Music. Viktor Radic attended several master classes with Arbo Valdma, Svetlana Bogino, Aleksandar Madžar, Bruno Canino, Jasminka Stančul, Michael Uhde, Hinko Haas.
